At the start of the second half term, children and staff took part in Active Mile Day. This event, which is part of our annual calendar of activities, supports North Tyneside and their link with the national daily mile initiative. The event includes all school pupils of all ages and key stages and encourages young people (and older) to participate in a range of activities in order to become more active. Following the event, our school sent off our participation totals and will contribute to the total number of participants who have contributed across North Tyneside. Additionally, the school received a celebratory certificate marking the children’s achievement and how many miles have been covered. The school total was 212 miles, which is about the equivalent from our school to Birmingham or about a three-and-a-half-hour journey in a car.
