Our Early Years classroom has been filled with excitement as we celebrated Lunar New Year together. The children were eager to learn about this special festival and the traditions that make it so meaningful for many families around the world.
We began by listening to the traditional story of the great animal race, where the animals hurried across the river to earn their place in the zodiac. The children loved discovering how each animal earned its year and were especially excited to learn that this year is the Year of the Horse.
Nursery and Reception children each made a bright red lucky envelope with a chocolate coin inside and colourful lanterns to decorate our classroom. To finish our celebration, we shared a delicious meal with our friends.
