The Girls Football Team have been in action this term. With a squad made up of many Year 5 players, they have shown fantastic character and resilience while adapting to the step up in competition. Despite some challenging fixtures, they earned a well-deserved 2-2 draw against Fordley and battled brilliantly to secure a narrow victory over Ivy Road. Although they were beaten in their remaining league matches, their commitment and teamwork have continued to shine through.
The girls also took part in the Northern Cross Cup, where they were again unfortunate not to progress beyond the first round. They put in strong performances across their three group games, losing 2-0 to St Bernadette’s, drawing 1-1 with St Mary’s and finishing with an excellent 2-0 win over St Columba’s. Their effort, attitude and improvement throughout the tournament were a real credit to the team.
