This year, our Lenten appeal focused on making a difference to those less fortunate in our global community through the wonderful work of CAFOD. During the weeks of Lent, we hosted a special Prayer, Song, and Soup event, a unique opportunity for our children to come together and reflect on the importance of giving back.
Children from Year 2 to Year 6 took on the role of leading a heartfelt prayer service, where they shared messages of hope and compassion. This was followed by a community soup kitchen, where families gathered to share in simple yet meaningful meals, all in the spirit of Lent.
The children were not only enthusiastic but also proud to share the incredible work taking place at our school to support the Jubilee Year of Hope mission. It was a beautiful moment of unity, as the children, families, and staff came together to raise awareness about global needs and the power of kindness.
The services were incredibly well attended, with the children doing an outstanding job of leading each week’s theme, focusing on love, generosity and compassion. It was a powerful reminder of how small actions can have a profound impact on others, and we are grateful for everyone who contributed to making this event a success.
