All the children in Year 6 had the opportunity to represent our school in a Sportshall Athletics event, held at the Lakeside Leisure Centre. Pupils competed in different track athletics events such as: hurdles, sprinting events, relay racing and also field events such as throwing and jumping events as well as agility events. The competition allowed for the children to not only compete against the three other schools present at the event but also against various other schools from North Tyneside, due to their times and distances being measured. The children, when not competing, offered great support and encouragement for their classmates, which resulted in everyone enjoying the experience. The children all performed brilliantly and regardless of where they finished, competed to the best of their ability and in a competitive but sportsman like manner. Collectively the class finished 2nd on the day but despite this, still had a great time and did our school proud in the way they conducted themselves.
